ENTERING THE SPEEDWAY

Whether it’s your first visit to Charlotte Motor Speedway or you’re a returning fan, a little planning will make race day easier and much more enjoyable. From tickets and security checks to parking and entry times, here’s a quick rundown to help you prepare.

Bag check and security
All bags and personal items are subject to inspection at the gates. Review the Speedway’s approved and prohibited items list before you arrive–it covers everything from coolers and snacks to fan gear. Items not allowed will be confiscated and thrown away, and in serious cases, bringing restricted items could lead to removal from the venue or even a ban from future events.

Tickets and entry
You’ll need a valid ticket to enter the track. The quickest way to purchase is online, and popular categories–like reserved grandstand seats and general admission–often sell out well in advance. The facility also offers some natural seating areas without assigned spots, ideal for fans who prefer a more relaxed experience.

Parking options
Crowds are always large for the Night Race, so plan ahead for parking:

• General parking is the most affordable choice, but it fills up quickly and may require a longer walk.
• Premium parking costs more but gets you closer to the gates and saves time.
• Off-site or free parking may be available in nearby areas, but spaces are limited–always check signage to avoid tickets or towing.
• Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft can drop you near the entrances, a good option if you’re staying in Concord and want to skip parking altogether.

Parking lot opening times
For the Bank of America Roval 400, lots open at 8:00 AM on race day. Arriving early means shorter waits at security, less stress in traffic, and more time to enjoy the Fan Zone and pre-race activities.
