RULES FOR VISITORS

As with all NASCAR events, fans attending the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway must follow the rules and regulations set by the organizers. Security personnel are on site to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Prohibited items

For safety reasons, certain items are not permitted inside the Speedway. Anything that could pose a danger, disrupt the event, or create risks for others is strictly banned. This also applies to merchandise or tickets brought in for resale. All guests are subject to security screening at the gates, and those who refuse may be denied entry without a refund. To avoid issues at the entrance, review Charlotte Motor Speedway’s official list of prohibited items before arriving.

The list below is not complete, but covers some of the most commonly restricted items:

  • Aerosol cans (except sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray)
  • Animals/pets
  • Any firearm
  • Collapsible chairs
  • Displays of the Confederate flag
  • Dry ice
  • Fireworks
  • Foam or hard-sided coolers of any size
  • Frisbees, balloons, beach balls, or any other projectile
  • Glass or ceramic containers of any kind
  • Illegal substances of any kind
  • Knives longer than 3 inches closed or 6 inches open
  • Laser pointers, noisemakers, and air horns
  • Obscene or indecent clothing
  • Seat cushions with metal components
  • Selfie sticks
  • Skateboards, hoverboards, roller skates, and bicycles
  • Tripods and monopods (solid or collapsible)
  • Umbrellas
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones)
  • Utility tools (multi-purpose) with a knife blade over 3 inches
  • Wagons

What you can bring

To make your trip to the Bank of America Roval 400 hassle-free, it’s a good idea to travel light and bring only the essentials. Pack your phone, a portable charger or extra camera batteries, some cash, and your tickets for each day you’ll be at the track. Adults should carry a valid photo ID, and it’s recommended to have identification for children as well. Sticking to the basics will speed up security checks and give you more time to enjoy the race.

The following items are allowed inside the Speedway:

  • Bags (maximum of two per person, up to 18" × 18" × 14")
  • Cameras, binoculars, scanners, and headsets (can be worn around the neck, belt, or carried in a bag)
  • Cigarettes and lighters
  • Clothing/blankets
  • Flags (nationality flags attached to a pencil-sized wooden stick; must not block other fans’ view)
  • Food and beverages (pre-packaged and sealed, including alcoholic beverages unless prohibited by state law; no glass containers; allowed in soft-sided cooler up to 14" × 14" × 14")
  • Ice
  • iPads, tablets, and laptop computers
  • Insulated cups (up to 64 oz.)
  • Seat cushions (without metal components)
  • Service animals
  • Strollers
  • Sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray (aerosol, gel, or liquid forms)
