TRAVELING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

While most fans arrive by car, RV, or on foot from nearby campgrounds, it’s possible to reach Charlotte Motor Speedway using public transit options combined with short transfers.

Concord Charlotte Express (CCX)

The Concord Charlotte Express provides a convenient bus link between Charlotte and Concord, with stops including:

• JW Clay LYNX Light Rail Station – connected from Charlotte’s Blue Line.
• N. Tryon/Pavilion Blvd.
• Charlotte Motor Speedway – dedicated stop near the track.
• Additional stops in Concord, including Rider Transit Center and The Village/Big Lots.

This makes it possible to travel from Charlotte’s city center (or even the airport via the light rail) directly to the Speedway area without a car.

Race-Day Shuttles

During major NASCAR weekends, shuttle buses run between selected parking areas, campgrounds, and Speedway gates.

• Service begins several hours before the race and continues until all fans have departed.
• Queues can be long after the checkered flag, but buses usually move quickly once boarding begins.

Train connections

There is no passenger rail station directly at the Speedway, but Amtrak serves Charlotte (CLT station) with connections along the Carolinian and Piedmont routes. From there, you can transfer to the LYNX Blue Line light rail and connect with the CCX bus at JW Clay Station for a direct trip to the Speedway.

Taxis and rideshare

Uber, Lyft, and local taxi companies operate widely in the Charlotte and Concord area. Dedicated pickup and drop-off zones are typically set up near the Speedway during major events.
