TRAVELING TO THE SPEEDWAY

Most fans travel to the Speedway in one of three ways: driving, flying, or limited public transit. Which option makes the most sense depends on where you’re coming from, your timing, and how you plan to spend race day.

• By car – Driving is by far the most common choice. The track sits right off I-85 in Concord, just northeast of Charlotte. On race weekends, expect heavy traffic, so plan extra time for parking and shuttle transfers from the outer lots.
• By air – If you’re flying in, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is the closest major hub, about 25 miles from the track. Regional airports like Concord-Padgett Regional (USA) also serve smaller carriers and private flights. Rental cars, taxis, and rideshares are widely available.
• By public transit – Options are limited. The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) does not run directly to the Speedway, so fans relying on transit will need to combine bus routes or use rideshare/taxi for the last leg.
